In general, short circuit occurs in electrical equipment or components when improper use or unexpected conditions occur. So the transformer is no exception, there will be short circuit phenomenon.
So what is a short circuit? A short circuit is an electric potential short circuit between two parts with potential differences that are accidentally short-circuited or after electrical characteristics have failed.

The first case is a short circuit between the primary coils of the transformer itself, such as the damage of the coil insulation layer or the insulating paint, resulting in a short circuit between the turns, which reduces the transformer's excitation inductance.
Increased excitation current, increased transformer magnetic loss, and even burned coils in the case of severe turn-to-turn short circuits, thereby damaging the transformer;
The second case is a short circuit between the transformer's primary and secondary test coils, which is dangerous. For the equipment and users, the high-voltage primary and secondary test lose electrical isolation;
The third case is the most common electrical short circuit, which is the saturation of the transformer over-volt-seconds or super-flux density. Once the transformer is saturated.
The primary-side excitation or excitation inductance decreases rapidly (if the principle of saturation is not clear, please refer to the principle of magnetic core magnetization).
Even if the primary side coil loses the inductance at the rated parameter (the derived expression of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction can be used to clarify what the transformer's rated parameter is and the relationship between them), the inductance is missing.
The primary side becomes a wire. At this time, the voltage applied across the coil is shorted and a short circuit occurs.
